Question on the Validity of FUE
« on: January 20, 2012, 06:19:21 PM »

FUE is for a very select few patients.  Those who want to shave their heads or wear the hair as low as possible and who won't lose their existing hair in the future.  This would limit the procedure to patients who are class 2 or less and will never progress to a higher class of loss.   Very few people fit this profile.

FUE is a modern version of the old plug.  The only difference is that it is 1mm punch instead of 4mm punch.  It DOES leave scars (many scar) even thousands of polka dots if you do a large case and it will decimate the donor area like the old plugs did.  This makes it extremely difficult to harvest hair for future procedures if needed.  Doctors like it because it enables them to charge a premium and revenue for a lot of doctors is their primary focus, unfortunately for the patient.   If you notice doctors who do FUE they will not have many pictures of patients one year after the procedure.  Maybe a handful at most.  Most of the pictures are of the patient after surgery and a week later to focus on the healing and lack of linear scar.   However, the focus is lost when it comes to getting the patient a substantial cosmetic result for their hair line and vertex.  That is why most people should want to have the procedure.  They should want to get a significant cosmentic result that will enhance their appearance with minimal scarring.  Dr. Bolton has over 50 examples of the donor scar on his website and you will find it difficult to see them even when we lift the hair to show you.

Dr. Bolton will move more hair in one procedure then anyone else and leave an undetectable scar.  Just watch his videos on his website www.greathairtransplants.com to see his fantastic one procedure results.

The average patient will recieve a 35 cm x 1.5 cm strip containing 7,000 hairs.   Dr. Bolton will explain on his website on his home page his philosophy of how he can more then double the results that other doctors would get you.

Dr. Bolton charges $10,000 for his maxharvest procedure and guarantees you exclusivity.  This means that you will have 100% of the focus and attention of Dr. Bolton and receive the most hairs possible.  Wouldn't you like to know that if you do this procedure that you got every hair possible to maximize your procedure and didn't leave any behind?

We will give you $1,500 off the cost for your travel and if you let us document your case for our website with photos we can deduct an additional $500 for photos.

So your cost can be as low as $8,000 for the maxharvest procedure.

Generally most people fly in a day before and can fly out the day after the procedure.  Sutures can be removed by any medical professional (doctor, nurse, technician) ten days after the procedure.

All follow ups can be done by email with photos or via SKYPE.  The great thing is that whatever we do for you on your surgery day is permanent and doesn't require you to be here for a personal follow-up.  You plant the grafts and then you just have to wait for them to grow.  There is no advantage for our local  patients as opposed to our patients who fly in.

Propecia is very helpful for people who don't want to lose their native hair that might fall out the coming years.  Transplanted hair survive regardless of whether you use Propecia or not.

If you are nervous of being the less then 2% of people who have a negative side affect you can use Rogaine and a laser comb.  These are the only three regimens that have FDA approval.  Unfortunately, Rogaine and lasers don't work as well as Propecia.

I will have the office manager send out contact information for you on Monday with additional information.

Feel free to call me directly if you have questions.

Thank you.
